Dr Al Griskaitis

Consultant Psychiatrist & Director | The Psych Collective

Consultant Psychiatrist | Occupational PTSD | Police, Military & Veterans

Dr Al Griskaitis is a consultant psychiatrist and co-founder of The Psych Collective and The Heroic Collective for Occupational Trauma. He has a professional interest in occupational trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Much of his clinical work is with serving and former police officers, military personnel and veterans who have developed PTSD following repeated exposure to trauma through their work.

Dr Al's approach to psychiatry is deliberately broader than medication.

Medication can be useful, but it is only one part of the picture. Dr Al prefers to understand why someone’s system has become overwhelmed, what is keeping it there, and what we can change to help them move forward.

Dr Al has authored many of The Psych Collective's resources, including The Depression Solution.

Dr Al sees patients at the Wollongong Clinic attached to South Coast Private Hospital, where he is the Director of Trauma Treatment.
