The Depression Solution - Physical Copy
The Depression Solution
A practical guide to understanding and treating depression properly
Most people are told that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance.
They’re told medication will fix it.
They’re told to “just take the tablets and you’ll be fine.”
But if it were that simple, depression would be easy to cure.
And it isn’t.
This book explains why.
The Depression Solution is not a motivational book and it is not full of vague advice. It is a clear, practical guide that explains what depression actually is, why it happens, and what needs to change for real recovery to occur.
This book will help you understand:
- What depression actually is (beyond the chemical imbalance theory)
- Why antidepressants help but don’t solve the problem on their own
- The role of stress, emotional load, and burnout in depression
- Why you feel exhausted, flat, unmotivated, and numb
- What “recovery” actually requires
- A clear framework for getting better step by step
This book is for people who:
- Have depression
- Keep relapsing
- Feel stuck
- Feel exhausted all the time
- Are on medication but not getting fully better
- Want to understand what is actually going on
- Want a practical plan, not just reassurance
This book won’t fix you by itself.
But it will help you understand what’s going wrong so you can fix the right things.
If you are tired of not understanding why you feel the way you do, this book will finally make things make sense.
This book is written by a psychiatrist, Dr Al Griskaitis and a clinical psychologist, Jess O'Garr.
What has changed in the second edition?
Since publishing the first edition a year ago, Dr Al has done more research, and we learnt about the root causes of fatigue that plague people with depression. We wanted to ensure this was adequately covered, so we have included a new chapter on metabolic therapy for depression, to target the energy crisis that causes unrelenting fatigue.
